Although the style of expressionism only seven years old but the impact was so great for the development of film industry in the world. The number of industry players Germans who moved to America when it also made Hollywood movies influenced the style of expressionism. This style is mainly influenced horror films of Universal production in the era of the 30s seen in the background and character of the monster; film noir * 40s-era look at the lighting arrangements and the use of shadow, as well as films by Orson Welles. In Germany alone the influence of this style still seems to early 30's, like M (1931) and Dr Testament. Mabuse (1932), both of Lang's work.
Up to now the influence of expressionist still visible in some films, and usually confined to the type of movie fiction or fanstasi. Among popular fiction films such as, Brazil (1985), 12 Monkeys (1995), Dark City (1998), Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004), and the most recent Pan's Labyrinth (2007). But so far recorded only one film maker who nearly all his loyal wear expressionist style, which is Tim Burton. Burton uses all elements of expressionist aesthetic almost the same as the original expressionist films, both settings, costumes, characters until good light. One could even say he exceeds his predecessors for not only the visual element alone, but Burton also uses a typical illustration of music in all his films by composer Danny Elfman. His films, among others, Beetle Juice (1987), Batman (1989), Edward Scisscorhands (1990), Sleepy Hollow (1999), Planet of the Apes (2001), Big Fish (2003), and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005).
